Cerita bermula ketika Patricia Langley (Shannon Tweed) mendapati hidupnya hancur setelah suaminya, Truman, melakukan bunuh diri. Truman merasa dipermalukan setelah gagal mendapatkan posisi mitra di firma arsitekturnya—posisi yang justru jatuh ke tangan koleganya, Alex Weston.
Driven by grief and a misplaced sense of vengeance, Patricia blames the Weston family for her husband's death. Under the alias Amanda Chessfield, she infiltrates the Weston household as a tutor for their teenage son. From there, she systematically begins to dismantle the family from the inside by seducing the son and husband while psychologically tormenting the wife.
