Here is why survivor stories are the most powerful tool in any awareness campaign—and how we must wield that power responsibly.
Before you ask for a story, ask yourself: Is the survivor in a stable physical and emotional place? Are you offering a therapist or counselor on-site during filming? Do you have a crisis plan if the interview triggers distress?
Throughout the 1990s, Salieri became one of Italy's most prominent adult film directors, known for his distinctive style which often blended hardcore content with structured narratives and dramatic plots. His films tackled themes of poverty, slavery, and military conflict, and he worked with notable adult film stars such as Zara Whites and Selen. While his work has been described as having an "artistic imprint," it is the more extreme fringes of his filmography for which he has become known to a wider, more critical audience.
When we hear a survivor story, however, everything changes.
Awareness campaigns succeed only when that trust is honored with transparency, care, and action. Always prioritize the survivor’s well-being over the campaign’s reach.
