Not recommended. While these tools can sometimes force a cheap cable to work, they are unstable. More importantly, using cracked diagnostic software on a vehicle's sensitive CAN-BUS system is a recipe for disaster. Saving $20 on a cable isn't worth risking a $2,000 ECU replacement.
Almost always caused by using a third-party clone cable with newer versions of VCDS software (19.x, 20.x, 21.x, etc.). Newer software detects the older, insecure clones and immediately revokes their functional license. Vcds License Revoked Fix
Select (or the correct COM port if using an older cable) and click Test . Not recommended
Go to VCDS Options > User Interface and Identification , and change the "Check for Updates" dropdown menu to Do not check for updates . Saving $20 on a cable isn't worth risking
Official software identifies a non-genuine cable during an internet check.
Go to Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall VCDS completely.
