When the government forces their community to relocate to a poorly constructed high-rise building plagued by structural failures, Sathya's world unravels. Following a near-fatal accident, he begins hearing an omniscient, booming voice in his head (magnificently voiced by in the original, translated with equal grit in Hindi).
The story follows (played brilliantly by Sivakarthikeyan), a timid, cowardly comic book artist living in a slum resettlement building with his mother and sister. Sathya draws a popular comic strip called "Maaveeran," featuring a fearless warrior who fights injustice. In reality, Sathya is terrified of conflict and constantly compromises his dignity to avoid altercations with corrupt politicians and local thugs.
