At its heart, Bambukat is a story about the social hierarchy of rural Punjab and the simple yet profound desire for status. The plot revolves around Channan Singh, played with endearing simplicity by Ammy Virk. Channan is a humble farmer who lives with his in-laws. He is well-loved but constantly looked down upon by his sister’s husband, Resham Singh (played by Karamjit Anmol), a haughty railway guard who takes immense pride in owning a motorcycle—a "Bambukat" (a heavy, vintage Royal Enfield bullet).
