பெரிய மழையின் போது உறுதியான குடையை ஏந்திக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒருவரை அந்த குடை எவ்வாறு நனையவிடாமல் பாதுகாக்கிறதோ அதேபோல் தர்மத்தில் ஈடுபடுபவனை கண்டிப்பாக தர்மம் பாதுகாக்கும். தர்மத்தினை முறையாக பின்பற்றுபவர் நால்வகை நரகங்களில் சென்று பிறக்கமாட்டார். இதுவே நன்கு பழக்கப்படுத்திய தர்மத்தின் விளைவாகும்.
