He decides to change their destiny, giving them names—Perla, Gonzalo, and Sir Timoteo Montenegro III—and training them in the ways of a hero. Their new skills are put to the test when they lead Puss to the Whisperer, and together they defeat him, recovering the ruby. Puss returns the gem to the princess and offers the now-redeemed Diablos as her new personal bodyguards, ending the story on a heartwarming note.
