The album was recorded over a nine‑month period (January–September 2021) in a converted farmhouse studio in the Willamette Valley, dubbed The space, equipped with vintage analog gear (a 1978 Tascam 8‑track, a Moog Sub‑37, and a Roland Juno‑106) and a modest collection of field microphones, facilitated an organic blend of analog warmth and modern digital precision.

During her expedition, Anna Nelly Casey and her team spent weeks trekking through the dense rainforest, often in challenging conditions, to reach the habitats of the paradise birds. Armed with high-powered binoculars, cameras, and field guides, they set out to document the various species, observing their behavior, and taking meticulous notes on their habitats and populations.
