Using her father’s journal, Lara travels to Hong Kong and hires captain Lu Ren to take her to the dangerous island. Upon arrival, a violent storm wrecks the ship, and Lara is captured by Mathias Vogel (Walton Goggins), a rogue archaeologist working for the shadowy organisation Trinity. Vogel is also searching for Himiko’s tomb to harness her deadly power.
