The manual specifies that the probe is a consumable. Signs of failure:
: This occurs when the 3.5mm probe plug is loose or water has breached the internal copper wiring of the mesh sleeve. Wipe the connection points completely dry and push the plug until it clicks firmly into place.
Replacement probes for Crofton 1512 are available online; look for “2.5mm mono jack probe.”
