In the near future, an interdimensional rift opens at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, unleashing colossal, hostile monsters known as Kaiju upon humanity. In response, the nations of the Pacific Rim unite to create the Jaegers—towering, humanoid mechas designed to fight these creatures. The film follows washed-up Jaeger pilot Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam) and trainee Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), who must pilot the legendary Jaeger Gypsy Danger in a final, desperate battle to close the portal forever.
